Energy, economic and environmental performance assessment of a grid-tied rooftop system in different cities of India based on 3E analysis

Abstract India is very rich in solar energy, with a total of 3000 sunshine hours annually most places. The installation on-grid rooftop electricity-generation photovoltaic (PV) systems currently undergoing substantial growth and extension as an alternate source energy that contributes to Indian buildings. This paper analyses the viability mounting PV plants distinct cities various locations different climate conditions such Delhi, Bhopal, Udaipur, Ahmadabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune Madurai. technical feasibility installing 100-kWp system evaluated using PVsyst software under local climatic conditions. performance ratio between 70% 80%, capacity utilization factor 19–21% estimated output 170 MWh at all sites. produces 400–500 kWh daily per-unit cost INR 6–7 (Indian rupees) locations. lifespan ~25–30 years, reducing about 150–170 tons carbon-dioxide emission atmosphere every year. payback period ~5–6 which defines its feasibility. information would encourage organizations individuals install on rooftops buildings use electricity for meeting demands country.
